Hello to everyone, I am a new member and I am a great, great grand daughter of John Black of Cushendall (a Master Mariner) and Mary Blaney of Cushendun, who married on 9th December 1869 in Belfast and I am seeking any information on either of these families and descendants. They had a son, James Black, who also became a Master Mariner in Glasgow and my own family have descended from him in Scotland.

Hi, I'm descended from the Blacks of Ballycastle too. My g-grandmother was Catherine Black of Tornaroan. She was a Catholic, and was possibly born to Archy Black and Betty McKendry. I have found a baptism record for a Cath Black in the Ramoan Parish, Ballycastle, 1843. Any help in identifying other family connections would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Maria
