I am seeking information on the McKay family of Ballintoy, Antrim. My wife's grandfather was born in Port Glasgow, but prior to that the family relocated from Ballintoy to Bute prior to 1852. Would greatly appreciate contacting anyone who has researched these families in Antrim prior to 1850.

Jeremiah McKay aka Jeremy (b. 1824-7 - d.1865) born Ballintoy, married in Rothesay, Bute in 1852, died in Dumbarton. Journeyman carpenter. Possibly son of James and Jane. This is where I hit a wall.

Anne McMichael (b. 1828-31 - d.1880) born Ramoan, married in Rothesay in 1852, died in Rothesay. Daughter of Denis McMichael and Nancy Kean. Could use help here too.

McMichael shows up as Carmichael in some of the Buteshire records. McKay shows as MacKay in some of the Rothesay records. Family was Presbyterian.

    Children of this family:
Ann McKay b: Jan 10, 1855 in Rothesay, Bute, Scotland d: Bef. 1861

Jane MacKay b: Mar 19, 1857 in Dumbarton, Dumbarton, Scotland d: Bef. 1861

John MacKay b: Apr 04, 1859 in Dumbarton, Dumbarton, Scotland

James McKay b: Apr 14, 1861 in Dumbarton, Dumbarton, Scotland d: in Rothesay, Buteshire, Scotland Residence: 1880 Rathsay, Buteshire, Scotland

Robert McKay b: Jun 16, 1863 in Dumbarton, Dumbarton, Scotland

John McKay b: 1865 in Dumbarton, Dumbarton, Scotland d: 1935
+Elizabeth Jamieson b: Jun 21, 1866 in Clady District, Londonderry, Ireland d: 1905 in Belfast, Northern Ireland m: Jun 18, 1889 in Port Glasgow, Renfrew, Scotland Residence: 1889 Bouviere Street, Port Glasgow
