There is a headstone in Bonamargy friary, on the outskirts of Ballycastle. This is on one of the headstones:
    ERECTED

    BY JOHN RENIE OF TORR,

in memory of his two sons

    Alexander and Andrew,

    who departed this life,

on the 10th of August 1845

    the above named

    JOHN RENIE

    died 16th July 1860

    Aged 52 years.

(This name was locally pronounced as "Rainey". Jimmy Rennie, ex R.I.C. batchelor died at The Warren c 1950 and was buried in this plot. He was an uncle of J "Rooney".)
